Every cake on this page was developed in the same kitchen as Smith & Daughters, the restaurant Shannon Martinez built her name on. That matters, because it means these aren’t bakery cakes that happen to be vegan. They’re cakes built by someone who has spent years cooking professionally, and it shows. Expect proper mud cake, real citrus, real coffee, and a tiramisu worth the trip to Collingwood on its own. Most of what we make here goes out for birthdays, but weddings, work functions and the odd retirement come through the door too. All seven flavours are sized for a proper celebration cake occasion, not a single serve treat, and cutting into a Biscoff Gingerbread or a Party Tiramisu tends to win over guests who weren’t expecting much from a celebration cake in Melbourne that happens to be plant-based. Cakes are pickup only, from our Collingwood store. We don’t deliver them the way we do the rest of the Home Delivery range, so every order needs a minimum of four days’ notice. The earlier you lock in a flavour and a pickup date, the better your chances of getting exactly what you want for the day you need it. After something for the freezer or the pantry instead? Every cake here is already dairy-free and egg-free, and the Classic Mud Cake is gluten-free too, so it’s the easiest order when you’re catering to a mixed table.
